SOLO PRESENTATION BY ALI CHERRIBooth M102Through February 7
Almine Rech presents 'Becoming Animal' by Ali Cherri.
The Lebanese artist has assembled a body of work that explores the blurry lines between humanity and animality, engaging with the idea of what it means to "become animal." Drawing from philosophy, Cherri blends myth, sculpture, and symbolism to challenge how we see ourselves in relation to animals. His poetic works evoke vulnerability, instability, and interconnectedness.

    ABOUT THE ARTIST
     ALI CHERRI
Exploring different geographies of violence in his native Lebanon but also in the broader region, Ali Cherri (b. 1976, Beirut) is a Paris-based artist with two decades of artistic practice spanning across film, performance, sculpture – in clay and bronze –, drawing, and installations, interrogating the ways in which political violence disseminates into people's bodies and the physical and cultural landscape.

The exhibition unfolds as a meditation on fragile bodies caught within immovable systems – where watchfulness corrodes into exhaustion, and history reveals itself not as past tense, but as an unrelenting present.
