Souhail Guesmi, better known by his stage name Ratchopper, is a multifaceted artist hailing from Jendouba, Tunisia. Driven by a deep curiosity, Ratchopper began his artistic journey at 14 years old. He started exploring sounds by meticulously deconstructing and recreating music that he heard, eventually crafting his own instrumentals. He garnered local attention after sharing his productions online, leading to collaborations with well-known Tunisian artists, and eventually becoming an established name himself. Alongside his growing career as a producer, Souhail began teaching himself piano, honing his technique through improvisation and composing his own pieces. Not long after graduating high school, he decided to actively pursue a career in music, abandoning his academic path in economics. As his skills developed over the years, Souhail's compositions received increasing recognition leading to international commissions, more recently resulting in his chamber music song cycle "Appel de l'Inconnu" headlining at the prestigious Salle Gaveau in Paris, 2023. Limited to just 50 pieces worldwide, it features numerals in Arabic script mixed with hour markers and a stunning painting on the lower dial that the Emirati artist created exclusively for the brand. The painting depicts an interweaving of multicoloured segments inspired by wickerwork, a traditional craft in the artist’s country of origin involving the hand-weaving of palm leaves. Crafted in a lightweight and comfortable round case, measuring 41 mm in diameter, it is water-resistant to 10 atm and is made of grade 2 titanium blackened by a DLC treatment. The collaboration will launch a jointly developed platform in the region for collectible design, featuring a flagship event and year-round programming, beginning in early 2027 in Dubai.
