The designer jewelry brand to give three prestigious awards and confirms its presence at the Festival
Pianegonda, an icon of Italian design in contemporary jewelry, returns as a protagonist again this year at the Venice International Film Festival. From August 27 to September 9, 2025 , in the exclusive setting of the Hotel Excelsior on the Lido, the brand confirms its official presence at the Festival, strengthening its ties with the world of cinema and reaffirming its role as an interpreter of the dialogue between art, culture, and spirituality.
For the 82nd edition of the festival, Pianegonda has chosen to award three prestigious prizes, creating and donating plaques that celebrate the talent and creativity of international directors . The first is the Robert Bresson Prize , which will be presented on Friday, August 29th in Sala Tropicana 1 of the Excelsior to Stéphane Brizé . The award, presented by the Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo and Rivista del Cinematografo with the patronage of the Dicastery for Culture and Education and the Dicastery for Communication of the Holy See, recognizes the French director's ability to portray man and his work, his soul and his commitment, without ever sacrificing the complexity and dignity of his characters.
Sunday, August 31st will be the turn of the Sancassani Award , presented to Giorgio Diritti . With this honor, the Italian director and screenwriter will be celebrated for his extraordinary contribution to the national cinematic landscape, capable of combining narrative depth and artistic sensitivity.
The third event will take place on Wednesday, September 4 , when Pianegonda will award the Le Vie dell'Immagine Prize to Albert Serra . The Spanish director and screenwriter has been recognized for his innovative research and his ability to move between different visual languages, creating a cinema that becomes both an aesthetic and an intellectual experience.
