Pianist Lang Lang accepts Lifetime Achievement award in abu dhabi

Abu Dhabi Festival Honours International Pianist Lang Lang for His Lifetime Achievement and Artistic Contribution

Held under the honorary founding patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, founding honorary patron of Abu Dhabi Festival, and Her Highness Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Festival Patron.

Since its inception in 2012, the Abu Dhabi Festival Award, presented in association with Chopard has become a symbol of cultural excellence. The awards recognises master artists whose work transcends boundaries and fosters a deeper understanding and unity among people. From pioneering artists to thinkers and writers, this award celebrates their outstanding contributions and lifetime achievements in the fields of music, arts, culture, thought, and creativity.

Her Excellency Huda Ibrahim Al Khamis, Founder of Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation and the Abu Dhabi Festival (above right), presented the award to the world-renowned Chinese pianist, Lang Lang, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to music, culture and artistic excellence.

The award pays tribute to the legendary Lang Lang, an extraordinary person and a humanitarian pioneer whose philanthropic work with UNICEF as a Goodwill Ambassador has allowed him to touch people’s hearts all over the world.

His remarkable contributions to music and culture have transformed lives through the Lang Lang Foundation’s scholarships, training programs, and global outreach.
