May 21, 2026 Cap d'Antibes, France - The amfAR Gala, originally founded by Elizabeth Taylor 4o years ago, has become a part of Cannes Film Festival celebrations at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d'Antibes, France, is presented by Swiss sustainable jewellery and watchmaker Chopard. American actress Geena Davis was stunning in a custom made designed by Robert Abi Nader at the amfAR Gala Cannes 2026 on May 21, 2026 in Cap d'Antibes. Geena Davis is the co-star of the official poster of the 79th Festival de Cannes, alongside colleague Susan Sarandon.

Considered to be one of the most emblematic Lebanese designers of his generation, Robert Abi Nader ​is renowned for the boldness of his creations and his lasting influence in the world of haute couture. He was the first — and youngest — Lebanese designer to be admitted to and graduate from the prestigious Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, a distinction that marked the beginning of an exceptional career.

Early on, his talent caught the attention of the legendary Yves Saint Laurent, who invited him to join his fashion house for a formative internship. Robert Abi Nader later expanded his expertise within iconic maisons such as Claude Montana and Christian Dior, where he refined his artistic vision and couture craftsmanship.
In 1997, he unveiled his first collection at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, achieving immediate success across the Arab world and on the international fashion scene. He thus became the first Lebanese designer to present a collection during the official Paris Haute Couture season, paving the way for an entire generation of Lebanese designers.
After several years away from the Parisian runways, Robert Abi Nader made his highly anticipated return to the Haute Couture scene in Paris in 2021, once again showcasing his collections during Paris Haute Couture Week and reaffirming his place within the international fashion industry.

In 2026, he further confirmed his return to the global spotlight through a remarkable presence at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, where his creations were featured in several prestigious placements, notably dressing acclaimed American actress Geena Davis for the amfAR Gala in Cannes.
Today, Robert Abi Nader stands as a prominent figure on the international fashion scene, with creations that embody a singular vision of couture where innovation, glamour, and artistic heritage meet with elegance.
