With Central Park’s snow-covered skyline as the backdrop, Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2025 show took place on the 48th floor of the Solow Building, where Wes Gordon presented a collection that balanced timeless sophistication with a contemporary sharpness. The setting, elevated both literally and stylistically, underscored the brand’s signature air of polished glamour.
A striking floral installation of 3,000 cherry red ranunculus paid homage to Being There, the 1979 film that inspired Gordon this season. Its themes of resilience and renewal aligned with his approach—staying rooted in the house’s heritage while evolving it for a new generation. Florals, always a staple for the brand, appeared across prints, jacquards, and accessories, from golden brooches to a sculptural bloom at the waistline of sleek black trousers. Silhouettes played with contrast: pinstriped jackets were cropped at the midriff, long skirts were paired with bandeau tops, and the house’s iconic white button-down was reimagined in oversized tunic-length proportions, styled with delicate lace cage skirts. While some traditional suiting leaned toward a classic aesthetic, the overall collection reflected a refined sensuality—tailored yet fluid, structured yet romantic. Gordon’s approach this season reaffirmed his ability to honor the brand’s legacy while shaping its future with a sharper, more youthful perspective. |
