Jaeger-LeCoultre presents in Switzerland “The Stellar Odyssey”, an immersive exhibition dedicated to the astronomical phenomena that have inspired the measurement of time since the dawn of civilization.


From 27 October to 11 November 2025, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Boutique in Zurich will host this exceptional event, celebrating the art of watchmaking through an experience devoted to celestial observation and cosmic precision.


A Tribute to the Origins of Time
 
Since its founding in 1833, Jaeger-LeCoultre has paid homage to the beauty of celestial phenomena and their profound influence on the measurement of time.
Through “The Stellar Odyssey”, the Grande Maison invites visitors to explore how the movements of the sun, the moon, and the stars have inspired watchmakers for centuries.
 
Throughout this odyssey, Jaeger-LeCoultre highlights its mastery of the three dimensions of time — solar, lunar and sidereal — and the way its artisans have translated their harmony and precision into exceptional mechanical complications.
An Exploration in Two Chapters
 
The exhibition unfolds through two thematic chapters that narrate the profound and enduring connection between the heavens and horology, a dialogue between cosmic order and human ingenuity that has shaped our understanding of time for millennia.
 

1. The Origins of Time

Since the dawn of civilization, humankind has turned to the sky in search of meaning and measurement. By observing the rhythmic movements of the sun, the moon, and the constellations, early astronomers established the foundations of the first calendars and timekeeping instruments. This chapter pays homage to those ancestral observers who transformed celestial phenomena into systems of order — the first expression of precision — and explores how their discoveries continue to inspire the art of watchmaking today.
 

1. The Anomalies of Time

As science and horology evolved, so too did the understanding that celestial motion is not always perfectly regular. This chapter delves into the discoveries and innovations that have allowed watchmakers to compensate for the subtle irregularities of the cosmos — from the equation of time to the complex mechanisms that reconcile solar, lunar, and sidereal time. It highlights Jaeger-LeCoultre’s pioneering spirit in mastering these challenges, transforming the mysteries of the universe into mechanical poetry through remarkable complications of unmatched precision.

The exhibition “The Stellar Odyssey” will take place from 27 October to 11 November 2025 at the Jaeger-LeCoultre Boutique in Zurich, Bahnhofstrasse 32.
Free admission from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
