Editor Paris, France - On January 12, 2016, a partnership began in Los Angeles that is based on a clear conviction: to stand permanently by the side of children. Together with UNICEF, which has been advocating for children's rights worldwide since 1945, Louis Vuitton has been pursuing a long-term vision in the service of future generations. Over the past ten years, this collaboration has grown consistently, driven by the Maison's values: education, transmission and responsibility. After renewed support for emergency relief programs, Louis Vuitton is now continuing its commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment. A visible sign of this promise is the Silver Lockit collection launched in 2016 with bracelets, silver chain pendants and earrings – gender-neutral and an integral part of the range. Part of the proceeds goes to UNICEF every year; over ten years, 28 million US dollars were raised. The commitment is also lived internally: for example at the LV World Run, a solidarity run in Paris, or through the LV Reporters initiative, in which five LV employees accompany UNICEF teams on site every year and return with personal impressions. For the tenth anniversary in 2026, new interpretations of the Silver Lockit collection, a new edition of the book REBONDS and the unique Louis Vuitton Unity Time Object including a specially made Louis Vuitton suitcase will be released. Starting June 9, it will be auctioned off in a ten-day international online auction at Sotheby's; the hammer price goes to UNICEF. More details on LV x UNICEF's 10-year commitment: POWER4Girls In 2026, Louis Vuitton will also support POWER4Girls – a global initiative by UNICEF for girls and young women between the ages of 10 and 25 in 120 countries in South America, Africa and Asia. The programme strengthens their rights, education and economic self-reliance, tackles gender-based violence and promotes girls-led organisations. So far, 5.4 million girls and more than 11 million people in 15 countries have been reached. With Louis Vuitton's support, more than 100,000 girls will have access to education, health care and protection every year. REBONDS – Reissue of a classic from 1998 A ball that goes from hand to hand – a simple, universal gesture that transcends age barriers, cultures and countries. With REBONDS, Louis Vuitton is turning it into a unifying symbol of shared commitment to children. First published in 1998 on the occasion of the Football World Cup in France – at that time with donations for UNICEF – the book is now being published in a new edition on the tenth anniversary of the partnership with UNICEF. REBONDS brings together around a hundred personalities from the worlds of film, music, art, sports and fashion, including Louis Vuitton ambassadors as well as Nigo, Céline Dion, Zlatan Ibrahimović and Pedro Almodóvar. Photographed in Paris, Tokyo, Beijing, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Shanghai, London and Avignon, the result is a visual narrative in which faces, cities and landscapes enter into dialogue with each other. The foreword was written by Pietro Beccari, CEO and Chairman of Louis Vuitton, and Felix, member of the Stray Kids group, Louis Vuitton ambassador and ambassador for UNICEF Korea – two voices united in the belief that shared commitment can bring about lasting change. Louis Vuitton Unity Time Object To celebrate the tenth anniversary of its partnership with UNICEF, Louis Vuitton presents the Louis Vuitton Unity Time Object – a unique art object inspired by the iconic Monogram canvas ball. It combines the watchmaking of La Fabrique du Temps, the skill of L'Epée 1839 and the suitcase-making tradition of Louis Vuitton. From June 9 to 18, the object will be auctioned exclusively at Sotheby's; the entire proceeds of the award will go to UNICEF. Silver Lockit 2026 To celebrate the tenth anniversary of its partnership with UNICEF, Louis Vuitton is expanding the Silver Lockit collection with three new limited-edition bracelets centered around the iconic mini lock: with a red ribbon, blue ribbon and a black and white version with a football-shaped charm – a nod to REBONDS and the Louis Vuitton Unity Time Object. The black bracelet will also become an integral part of the collection. Each cord bracelet and pair of earrings brings UNICEF a donation of $100, and each silver chain bracelet and lockit pendant $200. Since the launch of the collection in 2016, 28 million US dollars have been raised. The three new straps have been available in selected Louis Vuitton boutiques and on louisvuitton.com since April 24. |
