Richard Quinn transported attendees to a magical winter wonderland for his Autumn/Winter 2025-2026 collection at London Fashion Week. The show, held at the Royal Horticultural Halls, was a masterclass in refined elegance and old-Hollywood glamour, with a touch of vintage charm that defines Quinn's signature style. Among the A-list attendees were Olympic runner Keely Hodgkinson, Anais Gallagher, and Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia Spencer, all dressed in Quinn's creations.
The ballroom was transformed into a snowy scene, complete with a Georgian townhouse facade bearing Quinn's name, wrought iron gates, and glowing street lamps. As snow gently fell from the ceiling, classical strings filled the air, setting the stage for a parade of sumptuous silks, poufs, and ruffles. The atmosphere evoked a vintage snow globe, perfectly encapsulating the collection's nostalgic feel.
Quinn, known for his classic, retro styling, drew inspiration from the greats of the past, echoing the iconic "New Look" silhouette popularized by Dior nearly 80 years ago. This vintage inspiration extended to the casting as well, with 75-year-old model Penelope Tree, a prominent figure during London's Swinging Sixties, gracing the runway.
While past collections have explored diverse themes and materials, including latex and appearances from figures like Lila Moss, this season saw a more restrained and refined approach. Monochromatic silks, rich velvets, and elegantly embellished gowns dominated the collection, showcasing Quinn's mastery of silhouette and detail.
Despite the shift towards a more subdued palette, Quinn's signature florals were still present, albeit reimagined. Large, 80s-inspired roses adorned evening gowns, juxtaposed with exaggerated shoulder pads and cinched wasp waists, creating a striking balance between confidence and femininity.
The bridal segment of the show was a particular highlight, solidifying Quinn's reputation as a go-to designer for modern brides. His breathtaking old-Hollywood glamour, floor-length veils, and refined embellishments offer a timeless yet contemporary aesthetic that resonates with brides seeking both elegance and individuality. Pluming collars, exaggerated cuffs, silk blouson sleeves, and voluminous skirts added a touch of playful drama to the bridal looks.
As the show concluded, the upbeat sounds of the Pet Shop Boys' "Always On My Mind" filled the room, a reminder of the joy and optimism that underpins Quinn's work. The collection was a testament to his ability to blend classic elegance with contemporary sensibilities, creating pieces that are both timeless and relevant. The front row, filled with stylish celebrities, served as a testament to Quinn's influence and the enduring appeal of his designs.
