Jessie Buckley has made history by winning the BAFTA Best Actress award for her role in the film Hamnet.This achievement marks a significant milestone for Irish talent, as it is the first time an Irish actress has won this prestigious award at the BAFTAs. Buckley's performance as Agnes Shakespeare, the grieving wife of William Shakespeare, has been widely acclaimed, and her win is celebrated as a testament to her talent and the recognition of Irish performers in the international film industry.

CHANEL and Charles Finch held on Saturday, February 21st their 26th annual Pre-BAFTA Dinner at the Georgian townhouse 5 Hertford Street, a private members club in London’s Mayfair.
Throughout the evening, Charles Finch and CHANEL welcomed a host of international guests from the worlds of film, fashion, design, art and music who gathered for dinner in Lou Lou’s to celebrate the 79th annual BAFTA awards.

Akinola DAVIES JR, British-Nigerian filmmaker, who went on to win BAFTA for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer for “My Father’s Shadow”, wore a CHANEL J12 watch, Caliber 12.1, 38mm, in black ceramic and steel. At the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2026 in London, not only cinema but also couture was in the spotlight. Among the outfit highlights of the evening were numerous appearances in Louis Vuitton: Emma Stone appeared in a flowing, blue silk crepe gown with a fine keyhole detail and subtle train, while Alicia Vikander impressed in an elaborately embroidered ensemble with artistic handwork.
 
Chase Infiniti made a statement in a burgundy off-the-shoulder jersey crepe bustier gown with sculpturally sculpted floral hem. Renate Reinsve also impressed in black velvet with a trompe-l'oeil effect, and Erin Doherty provided one of the most beautiful moments of the evening in a sculptural, deep blue silk gown with a striking silhouette.
 
The picture was complemented by elegant menswear looks by David Jonsson and Miles Caton, who completed the red carpet in precision-cut suits.

Savoir Faire:  The silhouette is entirely designed around a bustier and crinoline, forming the extraordinary wavy flower-shaped hem. Nearly 400 hours of work were employed to create this incredible dress. 

Alicia Vikander wears a blue double silk satin and silk crepe two-piece look with a fully multicolored embroidered top and a matching long column skirt with a pair of silver metallic platforms.​

Savoir Faire:

 This look is a masterpiece of hand embroidery craftsmanship. The bodice took 275 hours with 10 skilled artisans, & the skirt took 682 hours with 5 artisans. Aari and zardozi techniques have been used with the employing of various materials, shapes, and colors, including square stones (2,010 pcs), round stones (3,050 pcs), Navette stones (860 pcs), peanut beads in different colors (100 grams), drop materials (890 pcs), Minakari enamel materials (1,580 pcs in special shapes and sizes), round silver beads (280 grams), and silver sequins (25 grams). Each element is meticulously hand-applied, reflecting artisanal craftsmanship.

David Jonsson wears a navy blue lightweight wool-silk belted coat with a matching unstructured jacket and a white shirt and navy folded mohair pants with a pair of LV Flex loafers. Miles Caton wears a single-breasted grey striped suit with a white shirt, complete with a grey striped tie and black leather derbies. Miles Caton also wears the steel Tambour watch with a navy dial.
