HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco rounded off the day with a powerful call to invest in the ocean economy, noting that: "The ocean remains the most underfunded frontier in sustainable development." Highlighting that only two of the nine planetary boundaries remain unbreached, he argued that: "If this were a medical report, we'd be in intensive care." The Prince then challenged the audience: "Do not wait for permission, do not wait for consensus – build it, fund it, and scale it."

Johan Rockström, one of the most prominent environmental scientists of the decade, will be sharing the latest science available on the current state of the Planet.
He will be joined on stage by Paul Polman and Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim, two committed Planetary Guardians, to discuss how science can be translated into tangible, on-the-ground action.

To close the session, Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, President of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for COP28, will share her perspective on the vital role of multilateralism and science-based conservation in protecting and restoring biodiversity—and, most of all, in shaping a hopeful future for all life on Earth.
